Welcome. Thanks for checking out my work.

Heidy Panameño

Videographer

I am Heidy, a passionate community filmmaker.

I started The Breaking Stigmas series a few years ago to open our minds to sustainable futures and connection to each other.

My Approach

My work reflects what I see around me. I believe in the power of words, the lasting affects of visuals and the importance of community.

Energy is a language. Learning it will raise our frequency.

I graduated from Emily Carr a portal University that unleashed my imagination and compassion for our surrounds and for people. I received the Millennium Award to complete my studies in 2000 and assisted in projects with the National Film Board as I learned my footing in the Film Industry. I moved to Calgary in 2003 and was nominated by the Alberta Motion Picture Industries association for Escape, a short film about trauma and healing. I assisted and directed several short films with other directors and learned about film and video production.

I started work on Breaking Stigmas a few years ago when I saw in my home town of Red Deer Alberta and Nation, a need for re-purposing facilities to improve communication, innovation and a place to raise the leaders of our futures. In 2019 I received a Woman Of Excellence Award in three categories, Arts, Culture and Heritage. My portfolio has since been commemorated in the Women’s Art Museum of Canada.

My next film project is entitled Walking In Spirit and it fits into the Breaking Stigmas Collection starting with the Culture Segment that talks about our use of energy. Walking in Spirit will discuss what supports can be found or created for healing from the loss of a loved one to suicide.

With the support of community organizations, government grants, and people like you Panameno Productions is growing to make a better world.

To get involved leave me a message, or share your story. We are the gift.

See you on the positive side!

Heidy.
